ABOUT the leadership

LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED

When our ownership group first came together, we had an amazing vision to become the best stand-alone memory care in MN. Our resident-centered approach always put the needs of the resident at the forefront of every decision that is made. We took into account how we could fulfill every tactile sense for residents and create a joyful and prosperous environment. Every square inch of the building was thoroughly designed to serve the needs of those who live with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our rigorous research led us to a single story building with an open flowing concept to help promote a community feel. We wanted to encourage interpersonal relationships that would be bound together with activities such as cooking meals together, doing puzzles, filling bird feeders on the patio and listening to special music that inspired residents. All of our communities are developed, owned and operated within our group for quality control and to stay true to our vision.

Sue Weinzierl, RN
Executive Director
Sue Weinzierl is a Registered Nurse with more than 30 years of nursing experience and brings a genuine, and caring expertise to the Rivers of Life family. Early in her professional career, Sue found a passion for enriching the lives of seniors and chose to go back to college and get a BSN degree. Since then Sue has spent over a decade leading Memory Care and Assisted Living communities.

After beginning her career in a clinical setting, Sue knew she wanted to do more than just treat patients. She wanted to get to know the people she was taking care of and form meaningful relationships while improving their quality of life. At Rivers of Life, we see your loved one as a person whose life has purpose and meaning. We see our residents as family, as a person. Sue embodies the Rivers of Life philosophy and leads the staff to focus on the possibilities ahead instead of their limitations, to create days of meaning and joy.

Dr. Angela Truitt, PT
Community Development Director
Dr. Angela Truitt is a published Physical Therapist earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in 2008. Angela started her profession as an in-patient physical therapist, working with hospitalized patients, gaining extensive knowledge in wound care and neurological rehabilitation. For the last three years, Angela worked in assisted living communities and most recently served as Activity Director. By combining her impressive education and medical background with leadership experience in assisted living, Angela integrates a unique opportunity at Rivers of Life.

The River's of Life Physical Therapy program is a personalized physical therapy program for each resident to increase mobility, function and strength. A consistent therapeutic regimen can be incredibly beneficial for independence and well-being such as gaining strength to reinforce self-care, improve balance to prevent falls, and develop range of motion for daily tasks. The therapy program is more than a clinical physical therapy session, it is a vision Angela shared coming to Rivers of Life. Angela takes the time to connect with residents and learn their story before creating individualized plans specific to the unique goals and needs of each resident. Progress is tracked and therapy plans are adjusted as the needs of the resident changes. Rivers of Life is proud to offer an onsite physical therapy program unique to our community!
