FULL-TIME & PART-TIME POSITION

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services designed to maintain the resident’s physical and emotional well-being at Rivers of Life. This position assists residents with tasks of daily living as indicated on the Service Agreement, the Medication Administration Record (MAR), and other services as delegated by the RN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide resident care and delegated nursing tasks, as required or assigned, under the supervision of the licensed nurse and medical staff. Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Administer medications and give reminders to residents as required according to the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and as delegated by the RN on site.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living such as dressing and grooming, escorting, and apartment upkeep.
  • Daily documentation and reporting in resident charts.

SKILLS

  • Possess a sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.
  • Prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Possess skills to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and other customers.
  • Possess the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and documentation, including medical terminology, in English.
  • Be punctual with a good attendance record.
  • Exemplify company mission, vision and values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education and CNA/ NAR or HHA Certificate preferred.
  • Experience in working with older adults.
  • Must qualify for employment, after criminal background check, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Activity Coordinator


PART-TIME POSITION

This position is responsible for assisting and coordinating enrichment programs and activities for residents.

DUTIES

  • Assists, coordinates and help plan enrichment programs and activities as delegated.
  • Encourages resident participation while displaying enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Reports and documents changes to resident mood and physical status.
  • Exemplify company mission, vision and values.
  • Additional duties as delegated.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in senior care setting a plus.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Team player and willingness to pitch in where needed.
  • Must qualify for employment, after criminal background check, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Chef/Cook


PART-TIME POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, and develop superior menu for incoming and current residents. Brain healthy foods, organic options, etc.
  • Recognize and accommodate all resident dietary needs.
  • Prepare meals according to daily meal census.
  • Manage department standards of cleanliness and sanitation and have expert understanding of federal, state and local laws.
  • Ensure culinary services meet recipe compliance, food quality, and food safety.
  • Exemplify company mission, vision and values.

SKILLS

  • Ability to understand and relate well to senior population.
  • Understand and communicate food service vocabulary.
  • Be punctual, with a good attendance record.
  • Be mature and emotionally stable using calm and kind tone of voice, remaining calm in difficult or unusual circumstances.
  • Be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently, staying on task.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
  • Work as a team member.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education.
  • Current ServSafe Certificate.
  • Management experience in food service, long term care preferred.
